The people using the tragedy in Manchester as a springboard for their hatred make me sick.

They don’t care about the victims. You don’t see these people out there volunteering, or raising money for the families affected. You don’t see them doing anything decent or productive, for all their supposed anger. They just sit behind their keyboards spouting their nonsense and using a horrible, horrible event to say ‘Gotcha!’ or ‘I told you so!’

The people who commit these atrocious acts have no religion. They shame the name of the faith they use to ‘justify’ their actions.

I want to make it very, very clear, as someone who grew up close to Manchester, who has very fond memories of Manchester, that I will be standing firmly beside my Muslim neighbours as we all grieve a terrible event.

Britain is a strong, multicultural, diverse nation despite how divided our current political climate is, and the people using the deaths of children as an excuse for their hatred do not speak for British values.
